To strengthen the visibility of its programs and initiatives, RISE Foundation is offering a Communications Assistant job opportunity that involves supporting the development and implementation of communication activities, including content creation, digital platform management, and organizational storytelling. Based in Yogyakarta and collaborating closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, this role aims to translate the foundation’s work into accessible, engaging, and impactful materials for diverse audiences, with the following responsibilities and qualifications details:
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing communication materials, including social media content, articles, success stories, and other organizational publications.
- Support the implementation of content calendars by preparing, scheduling, and publishing content across RISE Foundation’s communication platforms.
- Assist in documenting organizational activities through written content, photography, short-form videos, and other multimedia materials.
- Support the development of communication campaigns, advocacy initiatives, and public engagement activities.
- Coordinate with program teams to collect information, documentation, and communication materials related to program implementation and achievements.
- Assist in maintaining communication assets, including photo and video archives, publications, and other digital resources.
- Monitor social media performance, audience engagement, and basic digital analytics, and support the preparation of communication reports.
- Support the production of storytelling materials by drafting participant stories, impact stories, and organizational highlights.
- Ensure communication outputs comply with RISE Foundation’s branding guidelines, safeguarding principles, informed consent procedures, and responsible storytelling standards.
- Perform other communication-related tasks assigned by the Communications Manager.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, Social Sciences (e.g., Sociology, Anthropology, Gender Studies), Development Studies, or another relevant discipline.
- Open to fresh graduates with relevant experience through internships, volunteering, organizational activities, freelance projects, or previous professional experience in communications, content creation, digital media, or related fields.
- Demonstrated interest in digital communication, storytelling, and content creation.
- Strong writing skills in Bahasa Indonesia; working proficiency in English.
- Familiarity with digital content creation tools, such as Canva, CapCut, or other design and video editing platforms.
- Good organizational skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong interest and understanding of youth development issues, particularly in gender equity and social inclusion, education and technology, climate resilience and sustainability, and other related social development issues is highly desirable.
- Willingness to be based in the Yogyakarta office, with flexibility to travel for organizational activities when required.
