About the Recruitment
RISE Foundation, under the Urban Futures program in West Manggarai and Bandung, is committed to strengthening awareness and literacy on the Right to Food and Nutrition in an inclusive and sustainable way. To advance this initiative, RISE Foundation seeks to engage a Consultant for Developing a Guidebook on the Right to Food and Nutrition for Parents of Children with Disabilities.
The Consultant will be responsible for designing the structure, developing the content, and ensuring that the guidebook is comprehensive, practical, and contextually relevant. Special emphasis should be placed on the specific needs and challenges faced by parents of children with disabilities, so that the guidebook can serve as a useful reference for advocacy, parenting support, and community learning.
Responsibilities
- Conduct a needs assessment to identify challenges, priorities, and information gaps faced by parents of children with disabilities regarding food and nutrition.
- Develop the guidebook framework, including a clear structure, flow of content, and key objectives.
- Collect and synthesize relevant data and information on the right to food, balanced nutrition, and specific nutrition needs of children with disabilities.
- Draft guidebook content that is practical, accessible, and tailored to the needs of parents and caregivers of children with disabilities.
- Integrate inclusive and equitable perspectives, ensuring attention to food and nutrition access for vulnerable groups, particularly persons with disabilities.
- Consult and coordinate with the program team and subject-matter experts to ensure accuracy, contextual relevance, and cultural appropriateness of the content.
- Produce the final draft of the guidebook, including technical recommendations and guidance for use in parenting support, advocacy, and community learning.
Deliverables
- Needs Assessment Report – summary of findings on parents’ challenges, priorities, and information gaps related to food and nutrition for children with disabilities.
- Guidebook Framework – outline of chapters, content flow, and key objectives.
- Draft Guidebook – first complete version of the guidebook for review.
- Final Guidebook – comprehensive and validated guidebook, incorporating feedback and including technical recommendations and sustainability guidance.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in nutrition, public health, community development, education, or other relevant field.
- Experience in developing modules, curricula, or educational materials (as evidenced by a portfolio).
- Strong understanding of the right to food, balanced nutrition, and inclusive nutrition for people with disabilities.
- Experience using a participatory and inclusive approach in material development.
- Ability to systematically, communicatively, and effectively develop strategic and technical documents.
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders (government, CSOs, communities, academics) is a plus.
- Preference is given to those with a track record of similar work in the context of writing modules or educational materials for training/advocacy.
Consultancy Period
The Consultant will work over a period of three (3) months, from September to November 2025.
