The Basic Training for Health Heroes Facilitators (HHF) and the RAN PIJAR Work Plan Preparation activities were successfully conducted on July 30-31 and August 1, 2024.
This basic training equips the facilitators of RAN PIJAR Health Heroes in Bogor City with the essential knowledge and skills needed to successfully implement the program. Additionally, a work plan is developed to ensure that the planned strategies and actions are effectively implemented with the active involvement of young people, who are the primary focus of this program.
Representatives of policymakers attended the inauguration of the training on the first day, including the Assistant Deputy for Nutrition Resilience and Health Promotion from the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Cultural Affairs, as well as the Assistant for General Administration from the Bogor City Regional Secretary and her team. The preparation of a work plan involves active participation from relevant agencies, such as the Public Health Office, the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Bogor City, and the Branch Office of the Regional Education Office II of West Java, to ensure that strategies can be implemented effectively.

The basic training program offers a comprehensive range of materials for facilitators, focusing particularly on the nutrition and health concerns of young people. Some of the main topics discussed include:
- My Body and I,
- Young Boys and Girls in Their Eyes,
- Love Yourself,
- Stress Management,
- Look Around, What’s Happening,
- Techniques for Facilitation,
- Youth Movement and Action Plan.
This material is customized to meet the specific needs of the field and will be utilized in practical actions of HHF RAN PIJAR Bogor City. The primary focus will be on the topics “Love Yourself,” “Stress Management,” and “Look Around, What’s Happening,” with particular attention to issues such as balanced nutrition, the composition of my diet, anemia prevention, living a smoke-free life, and tailored stress management strategies to meet the specific needs of the targeted school or community.

In total, up to 20 facilitators demonstrated a notable improvement in knowledge, evident from the comparison of pre-test and post-test scores. The graph indicates that 18 facilitators improved their post-test scores, demonstrating an increased understanding of adolescent health and nutrition information. The other two facilitators keep a consistent score. The average pre-test score rose from 62 to 86 on the post-test, the median score increased from 60 to 80, and eight participants achieved the highest post-test score of 100. This confirms that the HHF RAN PIJAR training positively impacts their understanding of adolescent health and nutrition, preparing them to take action in their desired school or community. Stay tuned for the exciting real action of HHF RAN PIJAR in Bogor City!
